City and Guilds in Patternmaking - Syllabus
  • Patternmaking and Modelling Competencies
  • Patternmaking materials, methods of construction (practical qualifying tasks)
  • Patternmaking material removal techniques and inspection (practical qualifying tasks)
  • NVQ Level 2 - Mechanical.

The patternmaking craft studies programmes deliver both City and Guilds and NVQ qualifications. The programmes are part-time over three years, with one or more days being spent at college in the first year and one day per week for years two and three. After completing patternmaking qualifications, students may progress onto CNC/CAD or Metals Technology courses. The College also offers Modern Apprenticeships in Patternmaking and full time programmes of training can be provided subject to demand.
